Cedar Mountain Bernese is a small, family-focused Bernese Mountain Dog program located near Sandpoint, Idaho. Our dogs are part of our everyday lives, and our puppies are raised with the same care, attention, and affection we would want for a puppy joining our own family. We fell in love with the Bernese Mountain Dog for everything that makes the breed so special — their gentle nature, devotion to their people, beautiful presence, and unmistakable personality. What began as a love for the breed grew into a commitment to raising Bernese Mountain Dogs thoughtfully and responsibly.

Our Dogs Are Family First

Our dogs are more than part of a breeding program. They are companions, hiking partners, couch warmers, shadows around the house, and a big part of daily life at Cedar Mountain. Living closely with our dogs allows us to know their personalities, strengths, quirks, and temperaments long before we ever consider a breeding. That relationship is at the heart of our program.

We believe responsible breeding requires patience. Each litter is carefully planned with attention to health, temperament, structure, pedigree, and the qualities we hope to preserve in future generations. Our goal is not to produce the greatest number of puppies. Our goal is to raise Bernese Mountain Dogs we are proud to place with families.

Raised in North Idaho

Cedar Mountain Bernese is surrounded by the forests, fields, mountains, and open spaces of North Idaho. It is a wonderful environment for raising dogs. As our puppies grow, they have opportunities to experience everyday life, new surfaces, outdoor spaces, household activity, handling, play, and age-appropriate enrichment. We want them to leave Cedar Mountain ready to confidently begin the next chapter with their new families.

Helping Families Find the Right Puppy

Choosing a puppy is exciting, but we believe the right match matters more than simply choosing a favorite color or marking. As each litter develops, we spend time observing individual personalities and temperament. That helps us get to know which puppies may be best suited for different homes and lifestyles. We enjoy learning about prospective families so we can help guide them toward a puppy that may be a good fit.

Our Commitment Continues After Go-Home Day

Sending puppies home is one of the most rewarding parts of what we do, but it isn't the end of the relationship. We encourage our families to stay in touch, ask questions, share milestones, and send plenty of photos. Watching Cedar Mountain puppies grow into loved family members is one of the best parts of raising them.
